Earlier this week, PlayStation announced their new tiered subscription service to battle Xbox and their famous Game Pass. While PlayStation's announcement drew mixed reviews because of the tier system, Xbox didn't waste any time thinking of something to bury the PlayStation news. Reports are starting to surface that Xbox will reveal a new family plan for their Game Pass service.
Windows Central was the first to reveal the news, and according to them, it will allow up to five players to play together using one subscription. All players would be under one primary account holder, similar to Nintendo's family plan or your regular Netflix or Disney+ setup. It would be based on Microsoft's Family Account system for Office 365 services.
While Windows Central couldn't provide any pricing details or an exact announcement date, they did make it clear that the announcement is coming very soon.
As of January 2022, Xbox's game pass boasts 25million subscribers, which is considerable after announcing 18million subscribers in January of 2021.
