Review bombing is trending right now, and players took it to the extreme with Gran Turismo 7 on Metacritic, which currently has its user rating at 1.6/10.
While it hasn't reached the extreme Gran Turismo 7 has, Tunic is the latest game to fall victim to review bombing. Like Gran Turismo 7, Tunic received very positive reviews from critics but has users unhappy. The campaign against Gran Turismo is somewhat understandable, considering what happened with the latest update. However, the Tunic one is a bit pettier. It seems the game is getting review bombed because of its similarities to Zelda and the actual difficulty of the game.
Tunic's creators have never hidden the fact that they've borrowed from other games, aiming to be like Zelda and challenging to play like Dark Souls, so the review bomb is more trolling than people being upset for a good reason. This one is even pettier because these reviews have only come on the Xbox One user reviews, and the game still scores solid on PC and Series X.
For now, Tunic can be happy it hasn't suffered the intense bombing that Gran Turismo 7 did after their update, or GTA V did after the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases.
