Things are starting to snowball downhill for Sony and Gran Turismo 7 fast. Last week we saw the game go offline for around 30 hours as they put together an update that had players infuriated. After finally getting back online, players got another ugly surprise thanks to the update. Polyphony Digital changed the payouts for winning/completing races making it extremely hard to save money to buy new cars. The motive was clear, make players use microtransactions to purchase game currency with real money.
The update has not gone over well, and a group of players got together to express their unhappiness by review bombing the game on Metacritic.
While the game still carries an 87 critic review, it's down to a 1.9 user score, thanks to unhappy players worldwide.
Here's a sample of some of the user reviews left on Metacritic.
"Game sucks transactions alot of them bad in everything sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" wrote user Miiir1
"Always online (the game has been unplayable for two days now thanks to servers being down) and making the game increasingly grindy to sell microtransactions. GT7 represents the very worst aspects of modern gaming. The fact that this is a Playstation exclusive makes it double disappointing and really harms their reputation as a publisher of quality products."
"This needs to be fixed immediatly: remove pay to win microtransactions and make the singleplay content playable offline. Until then 0/10 because I literally can not play the game right now." wrote LordOMO
"Get this garbage out of here I'll go play nfs heat or forza 5 before I ever pay a cent for this game." wrote Reaper6791
"The game currently has 3977 user reviews on the site, and it looks like it's on a fast pace road to a 0 user review."
