Fans were expected to wait until April 19 to find out what the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion involves, but some details have leaked. After a recent update on the WoW website, users looked at the public source code, which showed pre-purchase for Dragonflight Base, Heroic and Epic Expansion. A new website is also in the source code, dragonflight.blizzard.com; however, the site is currently inaccessible.
Previous details had been datamined, which are believed to be rewards included in the new expansion like green or emerald dragon mount. This will be WoW's first expansion since 2020 when Shadowlands was added.
The game has already grossed over $9billion in revenue and has over one hundred million registered accounts. Many believe it's the greatest MMORPG and has movies based on the game and an animated TV series. Live events have always been used to preview new expansion packs and games. Still, for various reasons, including the Coronavirus and the Activision lawsuits, there haven't been any WoW live previews in a couple of years.
