Netflix is coming through with a live-action series of Resident Evil, and we've now got an official release date. Resident Evil will debut around the world on July 14.

While no trailer was released, the streaming platform did release three pieces of teaser art for the show.

The art is clean and straightforward, featuring some blood, of course. For example, one of the posters features a pill marked "Joy" and an "Umbrella Corporation" stamp. Another poster features a vial of blood containing a sample labelled positive for the T-virus pathogen.

We've also got an official description of the show from Netflix.

"Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father's chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie."

When Netflix first announced the series in 2020, it revealed it would feature two storylines: one with sisters Jade and Billie Wesker, when they move to New Raccoon city as teenagers. The other will show Jade trying to survive the zombie apocalypse in the future.

The show stars the popular Lance Reddick and Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nunez.
