While we wait patiently for any details regarding where GTA VI could be based, another rumoured has surfaced regarding GTA V and GTA Online. GTA Online leaker Matheusvictorbr9895_ dropped a pretty significant tease this week regarding a massive update coming this summer for GTA Online.
While Matheusvictorbr9895_ has hit on some pretty significant rumours before, he's also dropped many tidbits that never happened, so take this seriously. Matheusvictorbr9895_ Tweeted that according to his sources, a vast map update is coming this summer, and it'll allow players to travel to Liberty City.
While he didn't directly say Liberty City was coming, he ended his Tweet with sunglasses and a Statue of Liberty emoji. Adding Liberty City to the game seems like a huge undertaking. Still, it could help balance out the anger fans unleashed from the new GTA Online subscription service, allowing new players to quickly jump forward and accumulate progress. On the other hand, it might not even be that hard as we've seen console players add a New York-style map mod to the game. As MrBossFTW pointed out on YouTube, adding Liberty City would keep veteran players and give something new players to get excited about.
