Like most mainstream award shows, the Grammys hasn't exactly been the must-watch TV it was 20 or so years ago. There was a bit of news coming from last night's Grammys that gamers will appreciate.
Kirby became the first Nintendo character to help bring home a Grammy as Charlie Rosen and Jake Silverman's 8-Bit Big Brand were the winners. The group, which features a 30 to 65-member orchestra, has become famous for its popular video game themes renditions. They brought home the award thanks to the rendition of the 1996 Kirby Superstar song "Meta Knight's Revenge."
It's incredible timing as a new Kirby game, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, was just released a couple of weeks ago. The game has received pretty positive feedback landing 85% on Metacritic, 8/10 on IGN and 4/5 on GameRant. While Kirby is the first Nintendo character to help take home a Grammy, it's the second video game to win a Grammy. In 2011 Civilization IV won Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist for "Baba Yetu."
