A new leak reveals that there might have been a plot twist planned for Elden Ring that was scrapped at the last minute. Thanks to some data mining by Zullie the Witch displays a dialogue that was cut from the game and suggests there was a third possible heir to the throne.
Godrick the Grafted, the lord of Limgrave who resides in Stormveil Castle, is one of the first significant enemies that Elden Ring players face. Kenneth Haight, the commander of Fort Haight, is one of Godrick's heirs, but he prefers to stay at his fort. Nepheli Loux, a warrior thought to be the daughter of Godfrey, the First Elden Lord, also known as Hoarah Loux, one of the game's final bosses, is the other contender for the throne.
However this new leak shows that Elden Ring created dialogue for Gatekeeper Gostoc at one point, in which he claims to be Godrick's son. The questline regarding Godrick's true successor, according to Zullie the Witch, would have likely finished with Elden Ring players deciding whether to choose Gatekeeper Gostoc or Nepheli Loux. Still, FromSoftwarre reportedly dropped those plans before launch.
Interestingly, the information leaks now considering that in a recent update Kenneth Haight, Nepheli Loux, and Gatekeeper Gostoc all show up in the throne room of Stormveil Castle. However, the successor of Limgrave and Stormveil Castle is still up for grabs, and players have no say in the matter.
