As videogame studios worldwide continue to raise money and relief for the people suffering in Ukraine, Epic Games, along with Fortnite players, have put together a massive effort. $50million was raised over three days.
As VG247 points out, the money is more than some countries have put together to help Ukraine and equal or just under some major powerhouse countries. VG247 compared Epic Games' efforts to Australia with $50million, Finland with $86million and Japan with $200million.
It's incredible and heartwarming how Epic Games and Fortnite players have come together for such a good cause. Ukrainian vice prime minister Mykhailo Fedorov thanked Epic Games publically by taking to Twitter.
"Thank you Epic Games for understanding that people's lives are not a game, Your support is crucially important for us." Fedorov also serves as the minister of digital transformation of Ukraine, and since Russia's invasion began a few weeks ago, has been calling on tech companies to halt trade with Russia and support Ukraine."
All the money raised will go to Direct Relief, UNICEF, the UN World Food Program, and the UN Refugee Agency.
