It's getting closer and closer to becoming a real thing as we've now got another confirmation that Final Fantasy XVI is pretty much complete. While we still don't have any ideas for a release window, things are looking up.
Naoki Yoshida, the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, recently stated that a new FFXVI trailer would be released soon. The news was revealed during a live stream dedicated to the NieR Reincarnation and Final Fantasy XIV crossover. Yoshida said the new video is finished and will be released soon. However, due to several issues, it was postponed. He didn't detail why some mistakes pushed the trailer's release back.
As for the game itself, Yoshida revealed that the game is pretty much complete, and the development team is currently cleaning up any bugs and polishing off all the finer details.
Yoshida also noted that the development team aspires to provide users with a complete single-player experience. The first trailer for Final Fantasy XVI debuted during a PlayStation 5 event in September 2020. This was a first peek at the game, looking at the cast of characters and a quick overview of the battle system.
It's the sixteenth game in the main series and takes place in Valisthea where six factions are about to break out in conflict thanks to a spreading malady called the Blight.
