A couple of hours after EA Sports broke the news that they're ending their relationship with FIFA to create their own game titled EA Sports FC, FIFA announced their own.
FIFA has announced they'll launch their own game, which will be better than EA Sports. The game will be developed by a third party studio, "providing more choice for football and gaming fans"
FIFA added that they're currently in negotiations with one of the leading gaming companies to create a game that comes out in 2024. They said they've also got a long list of other projects underway as a lead-in to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
They didn't stop there, taking a little shot at EA Sports and their upcoming game.
"I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans," FIFA president Gianni Infantino said in a statement.
"The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on – the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain THE BEST."
Some clubs have already Tweeted their support and allegiance to EA, such as Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool FC.
