Epic Games and Microsoft are teaming up to bring Fortnite back to Apple devices by offering it free to play on the Xbox Cloud Gaming service. Starting today, you can play Fortnite through a supported web browser on iOS and Android phones and tablets and PCs.
Moving to the cloud avoids Apple's App Store, which Fortnite is now banned from after a lawsuit that began in 2020 and lasted long into 2021. Epic Games had defied the iOS App Store policy by allowing Fortnite players to pay Epic directly for microtransactions, avoiding Apple's obligatory 30% fee.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney announced the news on Twitter "Monumental news, everyone! Fortnite is now available to play FOR FREE, streaming to iPhone, iPad, and Android web browsers via Xbox Cloud. No subscription required, no 30% Apple tax."

With no installation or memberships required, all you need to do is go to Xbox.com/play on your web browser and sign-in with your Microsoft Account to party-up with friends or earn your next Victory Royale in Fortnite.
Whether you want to play Fortnite with native touch controls or a supported controller, it's easy to jump into Fortnite with Xbox Cloud Gaming.
