Initially, there was plenty of excitement regarding Fortnite's release of Chapter 3: Season 2 as it featured Doctor Strange; however, that's been forgotten about pretty quickly. New skins, battle pass and weapons weren't enough to keep players upset that they've removed building from the game.
The feature has been prevalent among players and is a foundation part of the game. It's helped players build buildings for protection during battle royales, and with constant updates, there's always something to build against. Not everybody is unhappy, though; a population of players feel that building has ruined the game.
Epic Games explained the reason for the removal of building and what you can do instead.
"To help maintain cover, you now have an Overshield on top of your Shield and Health. The Overshield is your first line of defense: before your Shield and Health take a hit, it's your Overshield that'll crack. Your Overshield will still recover if it goes all the way down to 0."
