Respawn Entertainment has confirmed some important news as it's now official we have an Apex Legends Mobile version that will release in May. The game will be available worldwide for Android and iOS devices. Respawns worked with Tencent's Lightspeed & Quantum Studios to develop the game.
The game is free-to-play and won't include any microtransactions or purchases to give you an advantage. There will, however, be battle passes, collectible cosmetics and unique unlockables. Respawn has also promised "a tonne of new stuff."
"I'm excited to announce, finally, that Apex Legends Mobile will be coming to all players worldwide in May," Jordan Patz told VGC recently.
"It's an exciting time for our team right now," said Patz. "We're wrapping up soft launch and we've learned a lot about the game in a short period.
"For those who aren't familiar, Apex Legends Mobile is a standalone Apex game that brings the experience and the world of the PC and console game to a new audience.
"We've built this game from the ground up with mobile-first optimisations and mobile exclusive content to make sure that the game feels like Apex while also fresh and new at the same time.
"To do that, we're starting with 10 Legends out of the gate, with favourites like Wraith, Octane, Bloodhound and Pathfinder.
"We're taking players back to classic World's Edge and Kings Canyon, and of course we're adding some twists to excite old school fans as well," Patz added.
Apex Legends has surpassed over $1billion in revenue and has a player base of over 100 million people on its current platforms.
