Some pretty significant over the weekend. Amazon Game Studios boss, Mike Frazzini, has stepped down. The company issued a statement released through Bloomberg, and Frazzini has stepped away to spend more time with his family.
"Mike was there at the beginning of Amazon Games, and his leadership and perseverance helped build the games business from theground up," the company said in a statement.
"Our recent successes with New World and Lost Ark are the result of the long-term, customer-focused vision for games he helped establish. We are very grateful for all his contributions, and wish Mike the very best."
Frazzini's time at Amazon hasn't exactly been considered productive. Despite apparently spending hundreds of millions of dollars in development during Frazzini's tenure, Amazon's games division failed to produce a smash hit. The arguably most successful release during Frazzini's time was the MMO New World which was featured significantly high on Steam for a while. One of the most significant criticism from staff towards Frazzini during his time there was his lack of gaming knowledge and understanding of how studios work. Frazzini didn't come from a gaming background and transferred from Amazon's books division.
